ABOUT SQUARE RAINDROP
Square Raindrop was brought together by Steff and Jo who noticed that most of the weather online is highbrow and rather dry. We aim to insert a bit of fun back into the topic which is the favourite icebreaker of the British public. Join us as we examine the science, convert it to plain English and have a giggle along the way.
Steff
A physicist who fell into Weather then fell into telly. That's a lot of falling.
Steff's love of weather comes across as she explains the whys and wherefores of our atmosphere. She has presented the weather for the BBC, Sky TV and spent over 10 years in the Middle East at Al Jazeera English after setting up their weather department. Now back home in sunny Winchester, she's kept on her toes by two small and far-too-energetic children.
Jo
Five children, three dogs, four cats! Jo has worked for the BBC, Sky, ITV and TalkTV; mostly to get some peace and quiet!
Jo also fell into meteorology but only from the bottom of her geography set, so it wasn't a big drop. Her geographic blindness (inability to remember where places are!) was more than compensated by her interest in the 'science of the skies'. Training alongside the Met Office, she has been forecasting for the BBC, Sky and Talk TV ever since. Proud winner of 'European Presenter of the Year' just before the turn of the century, weather never ceases to fascinate and challenge! Based in Lincolnshire, the 'land of the big sky' best known for agriculture and tourism, weather is of constant interest, and importance, for all.
